Valerie Travis Horne, MA, LPC-S, CCTP, CMHIMP

Valerie is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor. She became interested in counseling at an early age. Within the various fields she has worked, motherhood and grand motherhood, she realized having skills as a counselor would have assisted her abilities in helping others feel empowered. Valerie earned her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. She has training in Individual and Group Therapy as well as Floatation Therapy, Animal Assisted Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Sand Play/Tray Therapy, Child-Centered Play Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), Brainspotting (BSP) and Equine Assisted Therapy. She is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider.
Becoming a counselor allowed for Valerie to study and practice what has interested her most in life; how people think, feel, and behave, psychologically and physiologically respond to stress and trauma, and how she can best assist them in their journey. She has experience assisting people who contend with anxiety, depression, bi polar disorder, trauma, PTSD, adjustment disorders, life transitions, grief, abuse, stress, adults abused as a children, body image distortions, eating disorders, and persons affected by sexual assault. She is passionate about being a counselor. Her commitment to helping people grow and discover their best possible life is evident from the moment you meet her.

Sessions are billed at $125 per hour.
